My research interest is focussed on physical chemical properties of solid nanometersized colloidal particles dispersed in water, particularly silica. Size and shape are determined. For the determination of the shape a combination of viscometry and light scattering is used. Size distributions are determined by electrospray combined with SMPS (Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer). Surface electrical properties are studied with electroacoustic methods. The primary electroviscous effect is studied for asymmetric particles. A recently started project is aggregation kinetics of silica particles.
